The Curriculum Support Officers are charged with the responsibility assessing teachers’ needs, training them, providing professional guidance and assessing learning outcomes among other responsibilities. They also ensure that teachers comply with the set teaching standards, advise on career progression and professional development for teachers, monitoring the conduct and performance of teachers and collection and maintenance of teacher management data.

Requirements for the Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

i. Served as a teacher in Job Grade C4 TSC Scale 9 (and above); for a minimum period of three (3) years;

ii. A Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognized institution,

OR  

A Bachelor’s degree plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized Institution;

iii. Certificate in computer applications

iv. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

NB: Masters’ degree in Education from a recognized institution will be an added advantage

Note:   All teachers currently performing the duties of a Principal are encouraged to apply.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: -

i. have served as Senior Master III/Senior Lecturer III T-Scale 10 for a minimum period of three (3) years;

ii. have at least a Diploma in Special Needs Education (in the area of specialty indicated);

iii.  have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;

iv. meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution;

v. meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission

Hearing Impairment (13 posts).

Candidates who are successful in the interviews shall be required to present valid Chapter 6 documents before they are appointed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chief Principal is the lead educator and accounting officer and is responsible for the operational management of the institution. He/she is also responsible for the development and implementation of education plans, policies, programmes and curriculum activities of the institution.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

To qualify for appointment to the grade of Chief Principal, a teacher must: -

1. Be serving under Career Progression Guidelines;

2. Have served as Principal for a minimum period of three (3) years;

3. Be currently serving as Senior Principal T-Scale 14 (D4);

4. Be a holder of Master’s Degree in a relevant area;

5. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and performance contracting    process;

6. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;

7. Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and

8. Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: -

i.    have served in the grade of Senior Principal (Grade D4/TSC Scale 14) for a minimum period of three (3) years;

ii.   be a holder of Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE);

iii.  have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;

iv.  have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and performance contracting process; and

v.   meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.

iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: -

1. have served in the grade of Deputy Principal II (Grade D2/TSC Scale 12) for a minimum period of three (3) years;

2. be currently serving as Deputy Principal;

3. have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and performance contracting process; and

4. meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.

ii. Have served as Lecturer II, T-Scale 7 for a minimum period of three (3) years;

iii. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process; iv.     Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
